'Tis the Season...

It's here.. and my "it", I mean fall and the holidays (well, almost)..and I have to say: I'm NOT ready. Not only the holidays, but Lexi's birthday too, don't forget that.

We've had a good weekend so far. Fun with friends, etc. I don't think it's sunk in quite yet that we'll be moving to a different location soon. I guess it just seems surreal. Some of us to Florida, some of us to Japan.. I know it's "Air Force Life".. but I'm not sure I'll ever get completely used to saying goodbye. No matter what; I think it's always going to be hard for me.

I'm working on Christmas presents for the girls. I just bought Ava a personalized blanket from Disney.com through Shopathome.com. It was a great deal at $12.50 (usually $19.99) and I was able to get free shipping, free personalization and 25% off.. and I get $2 cash back.. so after everything is said and done: I paid $8.05 for a personalized blanket for her for Christmas. WOOHOO! Love that!

I've been drinking the new Grove Square French Vanilla Cappucino K-Cups (They were like $7.98/18 at Walmart) and they are FANTASTIC! I highly recommend them, even Rich likes them!

Still making decisions on Christmas.. but it looks like the girls and I will be staying in Clovis. Since we're traveling for Thanksgiving, it's just not feasible to spend the money to travel again.. it's okay though, I'm really looking forward to it anyway and Thanksgiving is going to be a blast!!

Until Tomorrow...or..some other day when I have time to post ;) lol

SNOW?!

It's 4 days before Halloween and.. it's snowing in Clovis, NM. Really?! Don't get me wrong... it's beautiful..but isn't it a little early?! Oh well.. definitely a day to cuddle with the girls inside!! Ava's totally enthralled with it and keeps asking to go outside. My reply: "Nope, too cold".

The past few days have been busy. I love it, frankly. Makes me feel accomplished. lol.

I shopped at Wal-Mart yesterday for the first time in ages. I don't normally shop there because it just annoys the begeezus out of me. I went around 1pm, and really, it wasn't too terrible. Although I'm not entirely sure I got the best deal there. Apparently Albertson's here offers 10% off on Sunday if you were an NFL jersey during football season.. Gotta admit that's pretty cool!

We're traveling to North Carolina and Virginia for Thanksgiving and I'm SO excited. Head count right now is like 43 people.. and myself, my siblings, and all the kiddos take up over half of that. LOL. That's what happens when you have five kids, Dad! It'll be so great to see everybody.. considering some of us are scattered all over, it's hard to get everyone together at once, so it'll be a real treat!

Lexi is getting so big. She'll be 11 months on November 10th and it feels like yesterday that she was born. She's starting to pull up to full standing now, so I'm sure it'll be no-time before she's walking.

Ava is... sassy.. and is potty training like a CHAMP currently. I'm so proud of her and Daddy is thrilled with the money we'll save having one of diapers. Combined with getting Lexi back in cloth while we're home, it should save us quite a bit.. though she seems to suffer from diaper rash when I put her in cloth... which is strange because it's supposed to help with that.

The other day, Ava walked up to me and said "Mommy, Jesus Loves Me" and it just melted my heart. I'm so grateful for being so involved in our church, her "preschool" (really, it's Mother's Day Out at First United Methodist here in town". This relationship that I'm developing with God is one that I've only dreamed about. I'm amazed at how much better things have gotten since Rich and I have put our faith in Him.

Thank you, God for all you've given us!!!

It's been.. well... AGES

Wow.. Just.. wow. I'm obviously really terrible at this blogging stuff because my last post was indeed when Ava was a month old. FYI, she's 3 years old now. Ooops...

Things are great here. Currently, we're still in Clovis, NM and as much as I complain about it, I honestly think a little bit of my heart is going to stay here whenever we leave. We've found our first ever "home church" here, we've made great friends, I've given birth to both our girls here.. That's a lot.

I'm couponing now and trying to find other ways to earn "money".. or more like rewards I guess. I also taught myself to knit. Might not seem like much...but it's a HUGE accomplishment for me; I normally don't have the patience to teach myself anything in regards to crafts. For example: I can make a humongous chain when I crochet.. doing additional rows?? Yeah.. not so much.

Speaking of couponing, I was able to try that new Dr. Pepper Ten. It wasn't bad, though I couldn't really tell the difference between it and Diet Dr. Pepper.. I'm also not too fond of the slogan on the commercials "..It's not for women". :-p Really?? lol. Ok, it might be a tiny bit funny, just because it's silly though.

I also have been trying Walgreens formula and premium diapers(they were buy 1, get 1 50% last week), so I got 2 large cans of formula for like $23 and 2 jumbo packs of diapers for like $13, which is normally the price for 1 can of brand name. Lexi seems to like it just as much so far (the formula) and she's doing fine with the diapers. Score!

I'm trying to learn more about couponing and get better at it. Though it's always great to see how much I'm saving. (I saved over $100 at the beginning of the month shopping at Albertson's - this included the military 10% discount, sales, and coupons). It was AWESOME!
