I can't believe how much complaining I've done over the last 8 months...
I spent the last (almost) week in Virginia and in NC for Thanksgiving and I have to say, it was absolutely amazing. The hubby came in on Thursday afternoon. I literally squealed and tackled him in the airport. That was fun.
The visit with my family went really well. Everyone seemed to like him and I don't see how they couldn't. It was wonderful. My nephew, who is 7 months old now is the cutest thing ever.
I'm so thankful for so many things in my life right now.
Prayer: Thank you, God for blessing my life with so many amazing people. I really don't know what i'd do without them. Please keep everyone healthy and safe during the holidays and always. Please keep blessing us with your grace. Please help me fulfill your will. Amen.

I'm at the starting line of the rest of my life....
Okay....
It's nearly 4am on a Thursday morning....and where am I? Right here...typing this blog.
I'm not really sure why I can't sleep tonight, but I've been having trouble since I officially went to bed at 12:30. I'm coughing a little so maybe that's it. I hope I'm not getting sick. That would suck with it being 6 days before I leave for VA for Thanksgiving..
I don't know...maybe I just miss Rich... or maybe the Cosmopolitan I had to drink tonight? I wish I knew... because this being up at 4am thing is pretty annoying.
So much is happening right now..it's almost too much to take in. Time is flying and it's like I can't keep up. I have one month and 4 days until graduation and time's not stopping anytime soon. I really am excited about moving to Texas, but it's also a really scary thing to think about. I'm going to be away from everything.. my home, my family, my friends...I never thought I'd say it, but I'm really going to miss this place. I guess it's my turn though.. my turn to make a home, a family and friends...although, the family thing won't be extended past our dog, Pipsqueak for awhile, it seems, which is okay by me.
I really need to work on all the projects I have due in the next few weeks today...considering it's one of my easy days with only Yoga..but it's always a little harder for me to get motivated.. Hopefully it'll be better today. I can usually count on Rich to get me to stop whining and actually get something done...
One week until I see him... Thank God.
Bring on the turkey!

The evil of money
I am currently convinced that there are some conversations in a marriage that you just can't avoid and I believe that money is indeed one of them.
Stupid, stupid, stupid... is about all I can say about money and the fights that go along with it.. Such is life, I suppose.
2 weeks and 2 days until thanksgiving.. I really hope this goes by quickly because if not, I think I'm going to go insane. I'm so ready to see him.. so ready to start our life together. To actually FEEL like I'm married would be nice, instead of feeling the same way I've felt for 8 months straight: Alone.
You're right. I did know what I was getting into. I never really thought it'd be so hard though. I guess it's just one of those days.
Prayer has become a very regular part of my life lately. My relationship with God seems to be getting stronger. I can't believe I let it go for so long. Really, my relationship with Him seems to be what keeps me going. He's blessed me so much with all of this. I'm married to a wonderful (though sometimes stubborn) man, I'm healthy. He's taken very good care of me. Thank God - truly. Things will work out if He wants them to... point blank

Life is a Highway
Well, another weekend has passed and this was a lot easier than previous ones have been. Normally, weekends are the hardest because I have a lot more time on my hands and he seems to do the party scene more often on the weekends, which always causes some anxiety.
Friday started out spending the entire day with my best friend, Sara Rose. It was her birthday and we ran a ton of errands, went out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, which is absolutely FANTASTIC and I highly suggest it, even though it is a bit pricy. Friday night we all went out to Buckhead Saloon in Raleigh and it was loads of fun. Though it resulted in my not feeling very well, but Sara Rose had a great time and I was so happy to hear it. (I'm on the far right in the pic)
Saturday we went to breakfast and I hung out with Sara some more until I received a phone call from my sister-in-law, which sounded like she needed me. She asked me to go to Wilson with her to visit mom and dad and I told her I would. Turns out her dumb boyfriend broke up with her and then she ended up wrecking her car in the parking lot on her way to pick me up. I felt awful for her
I spent the rest of the weekend in Wilson with the in-laws, who I adore. It's extremely nice to have them so close and to have the ability to see them so often. We went shopping on Saturday afternoon and i bought clothes decent enough to teach in, as well as some stuff for the hubby. :-)
I'm really missing him lately, I think he's right about the fact that this is the part that I hate. I'm 2 1/2 weeks from seeing him and I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. Thanksgiving is going to be a total blast with seeing everybody. There's supposed to be around 30 of us there for it, which is UNBELIEVABLE!
Things are starting to heat up here, and I feel like I have so much to do before the end of the semester/moving/graduation. Everybody knows that 2/3 of the work is in the last 6 weeks of school, but I'm sure it'll be fine, I just need to find the motivation to get moving on the papers and such.
I can't wait to start substitute teaching. It'll probably be challenging, but it's going to be a great experience, I'm sure.
So much is happening, hope you all enjoy the ride :)

So it begins...
The whole military wife thing is really starting to sink in these days. I honestly would not have imagined my being at this point a year ago and thus, the whole thing has been an absolutely beautiful, yet completely terrifying and messy whirlwind. Although that is incredibly true, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It's been a mere 4 months since Rich and I got married and it's already been a wild ride.
For those of you who don't know, I am not currently with him. He is currently stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base in Texas and I am stuck in purgatory here in North Carolina while finishing up my last semester of school (I think it's down to 49 days now until graduation). This is by far the hardest thing I've ever done, but I am living proof that it can be done. For the past 7 months, I've been visiting him about every month or so in Texas and let me tell you, the whole traveling so often thing...it's TOTALLY OVERRATED. There's nothing quite like many times of lost luggage, delayed flights and the dreaded missed flights. Once I get to Texas in December, I swear I'm not flying until I have to.
Although flying has been a consistent pain in the rear, the experiences that I've had during my visits have been priceless. Throughout these visits, I've been consistently reminded of how green I am at the whole "military wife thing". One of these instances occurred during one of my first visits when I embarassed myself by not stopping the car when Retreat sounded at the 5 0'clock hour or that you tip the bag boy at the commissary. As a former civilian, these things never really occurred to me before.
In later news, In mid-october, Rich (who is in UPT) finally tracked to the T-1. Apparently, he likes it, but seems to get frustrated by the differences between the T-6 (which only you fly and you don't have to worry about anyone else) and the T-1 (you have a co-pilot). So his sim yesterday was frustrating, but I have no doubt that eventually he'll get it figured out and will adjust just fine.
I'm counting down the days to moving and have even starting packing up some things to send down to him beforehand. The time is finally winding down and I never thought it'd get here.
It's so obvious that I have so much to learn....
